Client: Microblitz, The University of Western Australia
Situation: Microblitz is an ambitious crowd-sourced citizen science project of global significance, backed by the University of Western Australia (UWA). The project's goal: map Australia's microbial DNA by analysing and recording soil samples from across the country, charting how and where soil-based microbes differ across Australia.
The project has far-reaching potential, providing insights that could help scientists tackle the most important challenges of our time, such as climate change.
As projects go, it’s a big one, and it calls for a nationwide army of citizen scientists.
Deliverables: Our copywriters were asked by branding agency Luminosity to help build the new Microblitz brand and create the marketing collateral required to raise and mobilise an army of citizen scientists, starting with an information brochure and website.
